About JR Advisory

JR Advisory is a specialist advisory practice focused on cloud economics, AI governance, and enterprise decision architecture for organisations across ANZ and APAC.

Every engagement is fixed scope, document-driven, and delivered without implementation obligations, vendor relationships, or quota incentives. The practice operates at the decision boundary:- structured assessment in, clear basis for action out.

Advisory Engagements

Two fixed-scope engagements. Structured assessment in, clear basis for action out.

Offering 1: AI Decision Acceleration Framework

For organisations evaluating whether an AI initiative is ready to commit, scale, or stop.

Enterprise AI initiatives stall or fail not because the technology is wrong, but because the decision to proceed was made without a structured basis. Vendor presentations move faster than governance, enthusiasm moves faster than accountability. Commitments are made before ownership, risk, and commercial viability are fully understood.

The AI Decision Acceleration Framework is a fixed-scope advisory engagement that produces a structured, document-driven assessment of your AI initiative across four dimensions: opportunity value, POC governance, production readiness, and decision maturity. The output is a written assessment and a clear recommendation: proceed, pause, or stop, with the reasoning to stand behind it.

What you receive:

  • A scored assessment across four governance dimensions
  • A written decision recommendation with supporting rationale
  • A structured basis for your next board, executive, or investment committee conversation
  • Delivered in two weeks for scoping-stage decisions, four weeks for production-scale decisions

Who this is for: CIOs, CTOs, and executive sponsors accountable for an AI initiative that needs independent validation before the next commitment is made.

Offering 2: Cloud FinOps and Governance Review

For organisations where cloud spend is growing faster than the governance structures required to manage it.

Cloud environments accumulate cost, complexity, and governance debt faster than most organisations anticipate. Spend profiles expand ahead of realised value. Ownership is unclear. Tagging is incomplete. Reserved instance decisions are made before right-sizing is confirmed. The result is avoidable cost, reduced confidence in the numbers, and governance gaps that surface at the worst possible moment.

The Cloud FinOps and Governance Review is a fixed-scope, independent assessment of your cloud environment covering cost drivers, subscription usage, governance gaps, and application modernisation signals. The output is a written, decision-grade report that gives your finance, technology, and executive leads a clear, independent view of where spend is going and what to do about it.

What you receive:

  • A written assessment of your cloud cost profile and primary cost drivers
  • Governance gap analysis across ownership, tagging, policy, and DR posture
  • Prioritised recommendations with directional cost impact
  • Delivered as a decision-grade report, not a dashboard, not a tool recommendation, not an implementation proposal

Who this is for: CFOs, finance leads, and CIOs operating cloud environments where spend accountability and governance clarity are falling behind the rate of growth.

How we operate

JR Advisory exists to give leaders across organisations of all sizes decision clarity before commitment.

That means operating independently of the structures that compromise advisory judgment: implementation revenue, managed services contracts, vendor quota, dashboard resale, and tool-led recommendations disguised as governance. Advisory that stops at the decision boundary, by design.

Advisory Leadership

Alicia Hue, Principal of JR Advisory

Alicia Hue founded JR Advisory after close to two decades operating at the intersection of cloud economics, governance compliance, and executive decision-making inside vendor-driven structures across ANZ and APAC, across both commercial and public sector environments.

The practice was built on a specific observation: that the advisory most organisations receive on AI and cloud decisions is structurally compromised. The adviser either sells implementation, holds a vendor quota, or has a financial interest in the recommendation. Independent judgment that stops at the decision boundary is structurally rare.

An engineering background in electronics and failure analysis informs how JR Advisory's frameworks are built: identify breakdown points, test assumptions, and establish whether the foundation is sound before any commitment is made. An MBA adds the commercial discipline to ensure governance design holds under real organisational conditions.

No implementation. No managed services. No vendor quota.
